September 9th 2020 marks an important date towards the opening of the Centre de glaces de Québec, when for the first time, the media and politicians visited the site located on the site of the former Anneau de glace Gaétan-Boucher and were able to broadcast the first images of the interior of this expected infrastructure.

Press review of the Centre de glaces worksite’s visit:

"Finally, here is a project that comes to fruition after waiting for a long time. In fact, this high-level sports center was part of my electoral commitments during my first campaign, 13 years ago. We turn a page and we can open a new chapter." - Régis Labeaume, mayor of Quebec.

"This project demonstrates the dynamism of the Quebec City region. It is in keeping with the intention of the Government of Quebec to promote economic recovery through the construction of major infrastructures." - Joëlle Boutin, Member of Parliament for Jean-Talon.

"This is the result of great collaboration between different levels of government to move the big issues forward. These state-of-the-art facilities will contribute to the development of athletes in Eastern Canada." - Pablo Rodriguez, Leader of the Federal Government in Ottawa.

"It's fantastic! I think people will realize when it's going to open! […] I think the public will be the lucky winner in the coming decades." - Robert Dubreuil, general manager of the Fédération de Patinage de Vitesse de Québec.
